October 23, 2010 - Heritage Dinner - Mendota Elks - speaker - Steve Dancey speaking on the 55th Infantry and its relationship to Mendota. His emphasis will be on Company I and their participation at Shiloh. Social Hour begins at 5:00 PM with dinner to follow at 6:00 PM. $25.00 per person.

 

December 12, 2010 -An Old Fashion Christmas - New experience - two hours of food, entertainment, and friendship with old and new friends at the Hume-Carnegie Museum. $10.00 per person. The Hume-Carnegie Museum Exhibit Committee is actively planning for this event at all of the MMHS Museums. Although the event will take place at the Hume-Carnegie Museum, they are planning Christmas trees at all museums. They will also be encouraging local merchants to display Christmas trees pertaining to their business. Trees will be decorated with items from their business; such as beauty salons with beauty equipment, office supplies with pencils, paper clips, etc. Trees at the Hume-Carnegie will reflect earlier Christmas, the Breaking the Prairie barn with farm ornaments, and Union Depot Railroad Museum with trains. Quiet entertainment will be provided throughout the evening.
